The Australian Slopestyle Tour round 2 took place at Kooralbyn MTB Festival on the weekend on a brand new purpose built course. Australia’s top slopestyle competition is in it’s foundation days and it’s awesome to see the sport progressing here. Here’s what went down at the FMB World Tour Bronze event…..
It was a solid day of sunshine that saw the first slopestyle event held in Queensland at Kooralbyn Mountain Bike Park on Sunday. Riders from around the nation headed to Queensland to compete in the second round of the Australian Slopestyle Tour and throw down for the win.
Aussie’s Mike Ross and Luke Parker sat on the judging panel and some of Australia’s best talent came from all over the country. Local riders including Kai Flower and Sam Fraser hit the jumps on the all new course built by Kai and Shane Flower – builders that are responsible for most of the Boomerang Farm Bike Parks builds up until last year.
Competitors from Tasmania, West Australia, NSW, Victoria and Queensland showed the growing sport is progressing here in Australia. With Crankworx set to be held in Cairns for at least the next few years, it’s an exciting time for mountain biking in Australia.
