Men’s DH Final Sunday 31 July 3:45AM AEST

The second half of the season kicked off in style at one of the most garly and fast paced tracks on the World cup Circuit, it was the first year Vallnord tested the new track and it was madness. Loris Vergier has come back on form and the specialized team of Loic Bruni and Finn Iles are running at a pace hard to match. Will we see Loris keep his form or will Amuary Pierron maintain the amazing season he has had.

If there is one thing Snowshoe has shown us from the 2021 season it’s that we should all expect the unexpected. Anything can happen in World Cup Downhill and the series lead can change in an instant no matter the lead. Aaron Gwin is back up to pace and Dakorta Norton has been blistering this year, taking out the US National Championships on the weekend just gone. Will the Americans win at Snowshoe?

Camille Balanche has the lead in the quest for the overall Elite Women’s title but we have seen her riding more reserved in the last few rounds, is she playing it safe to aim for the overall? The reality is with Myriam Nicole hot on her heels and Vali Holl taking her first win of the season, she’s going to have to push the limits to take the win in Snowshoe.

Vali Holl has been a rider that has been inconsistent, she seems to be developing well but like most juniors graduating to elite, it takes time to be able to truly walk the fine line between checkers and wreckers in the Elite category. She is definitely strong, on pace and a true contender for the win and the overall. She will indeed have to get past Myriam Nicole who when on pace is hard to beat…

There is no doubt that this will be another blockbuster round of World Cup Downhill racing in the USA. Snowshoe will deliver a huge crowd that will boost the atmosphere and invite the riders to truly test their metal against the very best in the World. Will the mega rock garden take more scalps or will we see a crash free and tantalizingly fast World cup final?
