Rockhampton played host to an EWS Qualifier on the weekend and the 4th round of the Queensland Fox Superflow Series by Rocky Trail Entertainment. 157 riders made the pilgrimage to First Turkey MTB Park and the awesome trails of Rockhampton, with some big names from across the nation battling it out for the top step. It’s been a red hot minute since we saw such depth in the Elite Men’s field, with South East Queensland’s top riders heading up to Rockhampton for the two day event. Riders from across the nation were drawn to the event with Enduro World Series Qualifying points on offer for those fast enough.
Sunshine belted down on the trails for the weekend and conditions on course could not have been better. Riders from NSW, Victoria and Western Australia set their sights on the event and it was great to see such a talented field on course. Times were super fast and to even break into the top 50 overall you needed to be on a heater.
The business end of the day saw Harry Reibelt take the win in the Elite Men’s Pro Stage category and Jessica Hoskin take the win in the Elite Women’s Pro Stage category, maximizing their EWS points. Ryan Leutton took out the Pro Stage Masters Men, Bailey Christie won the U21 Pro Stage and Anthony Graham won the e-bike Pro Stage Men. Bec Steele won the Pro Stage Masters Women and Sarah Craft won the U21 Pro Stage Womens.
