Rider Review | Shred Bike Care Products

Bike’s are becoming increasingly more expensive and we as riders are dishing out more dough for our two wheeled beasts than ever, so why not take the best care of your bike that you can? Australian bike care brand Shred Bike have exactly that focus and recently our man John Dollison put some of their products to test. Here’s the bottom line….

Products: Shred Fast Wash Good To Go 1L Biodegradable Bike Wash, Shred Fast Wash Reload; and Shred Fast Shine Silicon bike polish

RRP: $19.99, $27.99 and $19.99, respectively.

Available at: Bare Coffee MTB, MTB DIRECT and selected local bike stores.

We’ve had Shred Fast Wash on test now for a few months now with great results. Typically, we’d give the bike a spray down to get rid of the heavy dust and mud, apply a reasonable amount of fast wash to the bike, brush it down with a trusty Pro tools soft brush and hose off and it’s done.

We’ve used other bike washes where at this stage you’d usually have to reapply, as the first wash down leaves grime behind and never seems to get your bike clean enough.  Given we ride mostly in Southeast Queensland and play in dust bowls most of the time, We’ve noticed Shred Fast Wash works well in cleaning out the finer dust and reduces the squeaks and groans that accompany dusty conditions.

Shred Fast Wash is very similar in ability to the another locally made bike wash which we’ve been using on alternating washes. There only real difference we noticed is the fragrance is slightly different. Both wash well and give great results.

We were impressed with the little touches on the Shred products such as the cleaver lid on the refill bottle, which keys directly into the fast to go spray bottle – meaning you won’t spill the concentrate. Rather than having to teeter one bottle on the other during refill, saving you a spill and giving you more washes in the long run.

The fast shine goes on easy and a quick wipe over with a microfiber cloth helps even the polish out. We haven’t had any issues with over spray on the brakes (being careful not to spray them directly on the rotors of course) and the polish does seem to help with the next clean if it’s not left too long between washes.

Shred also make a variety of other Bike products to keep your steed super clean and running smoothly – such as the Fast Degreaser and wet and dry lubes.

Overall, the Shred Fast Wash and Polish work awesome for what the local conditions throw at us, if you’re looking for an extra item to hit that $99 free shipping threshold, We suggest adding a bottle of Shred Fast Wash to your cart and giving it a go.
