Mountain biking is evolving so fast that the riders are pushing harder, faster and quicker than ever before – as a result we are opting for more protection and more modifications to our bikes. So is the addition of hand guards to our rigs really necessary? Let’s see what our readers said….
Do you run hand guards on your Mountain Bike?
It aint Moto Bro 44.44 %
No, aint nobody got time for that 33.33 %
I’ve been thinking about it 16.67 %
Yes, Barkbusters or something similar 5.56 %
So overall over 75% of readers that responded to our poll didn’t see a place for hand guards on their rigs, but 20% either had them on their bikes or were thinking about it. There are some big name pros running hand guards including Jesse Melamed and Sam Hill, so does this mean that they should have a place on our trail rigs?
We thought we’d put a pair on Jesse Chirizzi’s bike and see what he thought, the good, the bad and the ugly. You can look forward to his review this month at Brakes Wide Open….
