Women’s mountain biking has taken a huge step forward in the last few years and finally they are starting get the credit they deserve, Red Bull Formation is another one of those giant leaps. Born from the passion of Rebecca Rusch and collaboration with acclaimed downhill rider Katie Holden, Red Bull Formation took shape in it’s earliest form in 2019 with 6 of the best female riders in the world hitting the steeps of Utah.

“I felt like I had to be the one to push. I was not a freeride athlete, so it wasn’t like I was out for myself. I had no skin in the game; it was just the right thing to do.”

From the inaugural event, Red Bull Formation continued to grow, an event that was more about sharing the experience, pushing the limits and celebrating Women’s Freeride mountain biking. Two years later eight of the top riders traveled to southern Utah from May 24 to June 1 to test their mettle in the unique freeride progression session which propelled the booming sport forward even more.
