The vast majority of mountain biking pants have been aimed at the downhill market and have had a focus on durability and protection, recently many brands have started aiming their products squarely at the trail riding crowd, Aussie brand Unit is one of them. We picked up a set of Unit’s Contour MTB pants and have them on test, first impressions are good….

The time of year to ride in pants and still feel comfortable is upon us and for those of you in the Southern states of Australia, that may well be a decent part of the year. Many brands are starting to aim their mountain biking pants at the trail and enduro market, a welcome move if you ask us at Brake Wide Open. DH pants were always too bulky and thick for general trail use and there hasn’t really been a better solution for some time, well now many brands are starting to fill the void.
The Unit Contour MTB pants are a great looking bit of kit that is designed to be a snug fit with flexibility, breath-ability and comfort all at mind when it came to design – there’s even some protection on the knees. We’ve picked up a set of the Contour pants and have them on test here at Brakes Wide Open, we’ll be putting them through their paces for the next few months and will bring you the nitty gritty when we are done.
Stay tuned to BWO for the news, reviews and all things gravity mountain biking – as always keep the brakes wide open and see you on the trails….
