The weekend trip to Atherton was certainly something many riders were not against, with riders coming from all over the state to compete in the first Rocky Trail Fox Super Flow event in the region. Atherton has slowly been making a name for itself as a mountain biking destination over the last few years and it’s great to see some racing back at the idyllic location.

The Fox Superflow delivered it’s blockbuster race format to the region with some great rider numbers, showing that the hunger for enduro racing is alive and well in Atherton and it’s surrounds. The a large contingent of racers commented on how good the trails were at Atherton, a testament to the local club and council. Looks like Fox Super Flow will be back in Atherton after such a great initial response.

The local motocross gun and National Elite DH racer Caleb Ward took the outright male win with the fastest time across the whole weekend with 20:01.2 among a strong field of competitors. The female win went to Townsville racer Kristy Kerrisk in 24:49.1.

The locals were out in full force with Mackay’s Ethan Weiss extending his QLD North Series lead with plenty of Townsvillers on course ahead of “their” round on 26+27 June.

We are so proud that finally our very own Rocky Trail racers have hit these tracks in Atherton! The trail network is simply superb and we have been so impressed with the local MTB community’s engagement..”
