Emerging from the Snowy Mountains and dusting Australia with Aussie designed, reasonably priced protection and apparel, Sendy Gear has dipped it’s foot solidly in the Australian market. We’ve been testing a bit of their gear lately and we sent product tester’s Jesse and Shelly a bunch of Sendy’s apparel to put it through their paces and tell us what they thought. Here’s their thoughts….

Test Results
I wore the combo of the Sendy shorts and jersey every weekend over the last month or so. I was instantly impressed with the fit of the jersey, the polyester was nice and light and feels like they are designed for comfort. Aesthetically the shirt is quite simple and understated. Perfect for the casual rider keeping a low profile on the trails.

The womens jersey however, has bright neon popping designs to keep you standing out among the ferns, trees and dirt. The jerseys felt light and very breathable with the fit and length of the sleeves being perfect according to our female tester Shelly.

The shorts were a real winner in my opinion, ticking all the boxes. Multiple zipped pockets for all your snacks, car key or even a phone if you’re feeling confident. Adjustable velcro waist tabs that work great to account for post ride frothies or the obligatory bakery stop.

“On the trail the shorts were very flexible and were not restricting around the waist like every other mountain bike shorts I have worn.”
Product tester Shelley
The material is light but also seems to be very strong, I’ve had a few slides in the dirt so far and they’ve held up great. For the price point, I’d say these shorts are right up there with the best.

The socks are nice, comfortable, easy to put on with good stretch and a nice fit. Simple, practical and effective. Reasonably priced and ready to tackle the trails, just what you need.

The Sendy gloves were also a great fit offering a nice palm full of leather protection. There is a Velcro tab to lock them onto your hand that works a treat, no risk of them falling off. They use “Connectaglove” thread on the thumb and index finger allowing you to use your phone without the hassle of taking your gloves off, a very handy addition.
The Final Word
It’s good to see another Australian MTB clothing company making a mark on the scene with well made, effective and budget friendly clothing. We would highly recommend the shorts, jersey, socks and gloves. At Brakes Wide Open we are looking forward to seeing what new products the team at Sendy might bring out.

If you are looking for affordable, sensibly priced apparel then the crew at Sendy have the whole family covered, from age five to mum and dad. Sendy specialize in kids riding gear but make gear that will suit riders of all ages. We have been testing out the adult gear, which is just a larger version of their epic kids range. Go check them out and get the whole family shredding in style….
