Queensland Enduro Series 2021

EMS are back in the Queensland Racing season and in a big way with the launch of the new Queensland Enduro Series. The team at EMS have been running events for a number of years including the EWS races in Derby, as many of you are aware they were previously running the SEQ Enduro Series up until the last few years. This year they take the reigns once again and we took a look at the race fixtures.

Round 1: Garapine, March 21

An extremely popular race location and a great way to start the series, Garapine looks set to be a great race as usual. Located approximately two hours from Brisbane and a shirt hop from the Sunshine Coast, the private facility has been holding Enduro races for years and this year is no different. Make sure you get your entry in early for this race as it often fills up fast. Check out our ride location article here.

Round 2: Kooralbyn, 23 May

round two of the series heads out to Kooralbyn and the dusty trails of the Kooralbyn Valley Mountain Bike Park, a trail network that has been growing over the last few years. Home to the Scenic Rim Enduro Series and no stranger to races, Kooralbyn looks set to be another good round. The terrain may be less demanding that some of the rounds depending on the course, there are some decent trails out there and the shorter stages will keep every rider on the pedals. Round 3: Rockhampton, 4 July

First Turkey Mountain bike trails are no stranger to racing and the Queensland enduro Series under White Lightning Events made their way here in 2019, delivering a blockbuster round for many a rider. Rocky, rake and ride style trails with plenty of dust and fun to keep riders on their toes, Rockhampton looks set to deliver an awesome road trip round half way through the series. Round 4: Mt Joyce, 8 August

A well known race venue and one that is a favourite location amongst many racers, Mt Joyce will provide no shortage of gnar, rocky goodness and technical terrain. Located just an hour from Brisbane at Wyaralong Dam near Beaudesert, Mt Joyce mountain bike park is not for the faint-hearted. There is little doubt that the course for this round of the Queensland Enduro Series will be challenging in many ways.

Round 5: Toowoomba, 19 September

The last round of the series heads to Toowoomba and the trails of Jubilee Park. Guaranteed to be a big day on the bike with nor shortage of climbing and elevation, Toowoomba will challenge riders in terms of fitness, skill and stamina. The trails are a mix of technical, steep terrain and loose flowy terrain and the most diverse riders will take the top step. A fitting way to finish the season and bound to be a great race. The Final Word

Entries are now open for the series with discounts for full series entries, all rounds can also be entered individually. Auscycling membership is needed to race and full face helmets are a must on all stages. Looks set to be another big year in racing if COVID-19 doesn’t poke it’s little head into the mix, with plenty of racing in the enduro discipline. With a bit of luck the SEQDH season gets off the ground this year and we have some triple crown races to keep us all happy, we will keep you posted as soon as we know.
