Format

As we have said before Fox Super Flow is a format of racing that takes the stress out of racing, throws in a hefty dose of fun and embodies what you do on your every day rides. There will be three stages at the Mackay round, ran over a single day as opposed to two days in the previous South East Queensland rounds; you will have the whole day between 9am and 3:30 pm to post your fastest time on each trail with a maximum of five runs per stage. If you can do more than five runs of each stage then maybe you should look at the Shimano XC GP event on the 30th August as well!

Stages

  • FOX – Starting at the very top of the hill The FOX track starts down the “Millsy’s Ringa Mahi” before dropping onto “102” for some rocky descents before cutting into the skills park and the wooden berm to finish just below the MAD Mountain Bike Club House.
  • STANS – Also starting at the very top of the hill the track uses the new drops to get onto the old “Organ Donor”. The track joins “Pips Playground” before a hard left onto “Jellyfish” passing under the bridge for a flat pedal to the finish. Un-timed Liaison is via the main Access track and “Switchbacks” to the top.
  • LAZER – Follows the same start as STANS but uses the “Dragon Back” but before the track re-joins with “Organ Donor”, Lazer breaks left to cross the access road and onto “The Bees Line” down to Mosquito Creek. Liaison back via the “Kanaka Track”, “Dire Straights” and the “Switchbacks” to the top.

The Mackay round of the Fox SuperFlow Queensland Series is the first round to head away from South East Queensland and bring the racing format to regional Queensland. Mackay has a strong XC background and it will be good to see some everyday trail riding done between the tape up there. It’s guaranteed to be a great day on the bike and a good excuse for a road trip. For the super keen, you caan enter the Shimano MTB Grand Prix the following day and make it a double header weekend!

Following this round the series heads up to Townsville to round out the year of Superflow racing and MTB XC Grand Prix in Queensland…
