2020 Queensland State Championships: Enduro

It’s been a tentative wait but the details have been released by White Lightning Events. It looks like for the first time in some time State Championships will not be a round of the Queensland Enduro Series and will in fact be a stand alone event. Let’s take a look at the details….

Home of the 2018 Shimano Enduro Tour Round 1: Nerang

It looks like another great year on the bike and with 7 rounds of the Queensland Enduro Series, there won’t be a dull moment. The official end to the Queensland Enduro Series will be the September round in Toowoomba, but let’s not put our race bikes away just yet. Queensland State Championships are set for October and will see racers compete for the State Titles on the Gold Coast.

Queensland State Enduro Championships

October 4

Nerang State Forest

Nerang looks set to be the home of the 2020 QLD State Championships and we are told there will be some new trails being raced. Known for it’s rocky terrain and flatter, more pedally trails, Nerang has been the focus of some development over the last twelve months. It will certainly be a race won by the fittest riders and is sure to draw a large number of riders, as Nerang normally does.

Costs will be kept down and it looks like White Lightning will be setting the prices at $70 for Adults and $50 for Junior riders, again showing their focus on affordable and inclusive racing. It looks to be an inclusive weekend with Divas in the Dirt being ran on the Saturday, followed by State Championships on the Sunday. This will mean an epic weekend of riding for the broader mountain biking community and a stellar way to finish the race season.

Entries are not yet open but we will keep you up to date, it looks like a return to Nerang for State Championships and some new trails in the mix. brakes Wide Open will be there every step of the way and look forward to seeing you between the tape.
